Eleanor Vance
Artistic Director, Founder, and Head Instructor
Eleanor Vance is a Tony Award-winning actress and director with over 40 years of experience in the theatre industry. She has graced the stages of Broadway, captivating audiences with her powerful performances and insightful interpretations of classic and contemporary roles. Beyond her stage career, Eleanor has also made significant contributions to film and television, lending her talent to various projects. A firm believer in nurturing the next generation of actors, she founded Thespian Arts Academy in 1985 with the vision of creating a supportive and challenging environment where aspiring performers can hone their craft and realize their dreams. Eleanor teaches Advanced Scene Study and Directing for the Stage.
Eleanor's teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of discipline, creativity, and a deep understanding of human nature. She encourages her students to explore their own emotions and experiences, using them as a foundation for their character work. She believes that the best actors are those who are willing to take risks, embrace vulnerability, and commit themselves fully to their craft. "Acting is not just about pretending to be someone else," Eleanor says. "It's about finding the truth within yourself and sharing it with the world."

James Harper
Acting Instructor, Classical Theatre Specialist
James Harper is a seasoned actor and director with a background steeped in the tradition of classical theatre. He has dedicated his life to the study and performance of Shakespeare, Chekhov, and other masters of the dramatic arts. James has taught acting at several prestigious institutions, sharing his passion for the classics with countless aspiring performers. He has worked with numerous emerging talents, guiding them through the intricacies of classical language, character development, and stage presence. James teaches Intro to Acting and Shakespearean Performance.
James's approach to teaching is rooted in the belief that a strong foundation in classical techniques is essential for any actor, regardless of their career aspirations. He emphasizes the importance of vocal projection, articulation, and physical control, helping his students develop the skills necessary to command the stage and captivate their audiences. By studying them, we can learn about ourselves and the human condition."

Olivia Rodriguez
Voice & Movement Instructor
Olivia Rodriguez is a highly skilled voice and movement coach with extensive expertise in vocal projection, articulation, and physical expression. She has worked with actors in theatre, film, and television, helping them develop their vocal and physical presence. Olivia's approach to teaching is holistic, integrating voice and movement techniques to create a more expressive and dynamic performer. She teaches Voice and Movement, and Stage Combat.
Olivia's classes are designed to help students develop a greater awareness of their bodies and voices, unlocking their full potential as performers. She emphasizes the importance of breath control, posture, and alignment, helping her students develop a strong and grounded physical presence. She also teaches techniques for vocal projection, articulation, and resonance, enabling her students to communicate effectively and express themselves with clarity and power. "Your voice and body are your instruments," Olivia says. "By training them properly, you can unlock a whole new level of expression and communication."

Ben Carter
Improvisation Instructor
Ben Carter is a celebrated comedian and improvisation specialist with years of experience performing on stages all over Los Angeles. He is known for his quick wit, sharp comedic timing, and ability to create hilarious and spontaneous scenes. Ben specializes in spontaneous scene work and character development. Ben teaches Improvisation and Comedy for Actors.
Ben's classes are designed to help students develop their spontaneity, creativity, and teamwork skills. He emphasizes the importance of listening, collaborating, and taking risks, creating a supportive and fun environment where students can explore their comedic potential. He also teaches techniques for character development, scene construction, and comedic timing, helping his students become more confident and versatile performers. Serena Williams
Musical Theatre Performance Instructor

Serena teaches Musical Theatre Performance, focusing on integrating acting, singing, and dancing into compelling performances.

Marc Johnson
Acting for Film & Television Instructor
Marc Johnson is a film and television actor with over fifteen years of experience in the industry. Marc has appeared in television shows and films across the world. He focuses on helping students refine the subtle art of on-camera acting and the world of auditions.
Marc has a unique perspective to offer the students of Thespian Arts Academy. He focuses on the specifics of the medium of television and film, in addition to helping students learn how to land the role. "The camera doesn't lie," Marc likes to say. "Be genuine, be yourself, and be prepared." He teaches Acting for Film & Television and Auditioning for the Camera.
